So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some helpful hints:
Wash wall and make sure it is dried out. For freshlypainted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to installing decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may still need to settle and fullydry. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not advised on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to use on tile providing the surface is thoroughly clean and absolutelydry during installation. Be sure the design element does not cover grout region as water could possiblyleak under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, given that they are placedfirmly onto the surface so moisturecannotget under the design element. Once placed, RoomMates will notmove even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals can't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they should not be positioned on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may cling to the adhesive and ruin the merchandise. Also, do notput at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could filterunderneath the wall decal too easily and would compromise the adhesive. When applying, make sure you begin from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element separate from the wall/surface. Slowly go straight down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any excess bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the section. If the problempersists (this would onlyhappen with the giant decals), you can punch a very small (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to push the air out.
In all, it will always bebest to check wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface area is uneven, effectiveness could be criticallyreduced. Make sure surface is clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and wreck the item. Blog |
